Johnny and Nikki both have a hard time seeing their ex significant others dating new people. Nikki questions Johnny if people can still really be friends after they break up. Johnny become pensive and offers the fact that if you want them to still be a part of your life, then isn't it better if you can at least have them as a friend. Johnny puts on a good front in public trying to heed his own advice, but in reality he still struggles seeing Ava as just a friend when she is with Simon.
