Ava's bizarre wedding dream and accidentally coming across Johnny's red party shirt, stirs up more memories about Johnny than Ava is willing to admit. Yet, when Johnny suddenly arrives home after a three month absence, Ava is not welcoming him home with open arms. Johnny's stint on a fishing boat has put things in perspective for him. He now has a plan to win Ava back and reclaim her love. But, Johnny's presence in the house has once again thrown Ava's heart into chaotic emotional turmoil. She begins to question if she can have a future with her now fiance, Simon. And even Simon begins to doubt Ava's commitment, when he suspects there are unsettled feelings between her and Johnny. Ava's answer to the issue is an "out of sight, out of mind" approach. She confronts Johnny and tells him he has to move out. Disappointed, Johnny tries to argue with Ava, but his objections fall on deaf ears and he solemnly gives in and agrees to Ava's demand. Discouraged and dejected, Johnny heads to the beach to try and sort things out.
