Being responsible seems to be the word of the day for this episode of "Summerland". The days are hot and the guys are working out. Bradin turns the conversation to girls and Johnny and Jay do their best to offer advice to the young man, which includes the safe sex talk. But, trouble is also brewing when Derrick and his neighborhood friends inadvertently find a racy picture of Ava in with Johnny's things. The friend's mom deems the home unsuitable and bans her daughter from playing with Derrick. Derrick is heartbroken thinking he may have lost his "one and only" in the fallout. It doesn't help when the mom in question finds Johnny, Ava, Susannah and Jay in the middle of a delightfully unorchestrated food fight.
